
Whether it’s a line of poetry or a sentence in prose, line length is a power tool in the writer’s toolbox.
Participants are invited to bring a work-in-progress.
Cheryl Wilder is the author of Anything That Happens (Press 53, 2021) and its companion Singing Riptide (Press 53, 2025), which was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and Durham Arts Council, local grants administrator. Cheryl is an at-large board member for the North Carolina Poetry Society, a community guide in the For Alamance Initiative, past president of the Burlington Writers Club and chair of their Student Writing Contest. She is also the author of the chapbook What Binds Us (Finishing Line Press, 2017), has published in journals and anthologies, and holds a BFA from UNCW and MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. As owner of BornWilder LLC, Cheryl is a coach who helps clients tap into their strengths, nurture awareness and accountability, and develop connection and belonging in their lives. She is also a speaker who shares her experiences with shame and forgiveness to inspire others to take hold of their personal growth journey. Find her at bornwilder.com.
