About The Art of Self-Revision: Turn Your Draft into a Manuscript You’re Proud to Send
Revision is more than correcting grammar or fixing typos—it’s where a writer discovers what a manuscript is really trying to say. This focused, hands-on workshop introduces practical self-revision strategies writers can apply across genres, including novels, memoir, short fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and more. Participants will use guided digital exercises to examine their writing from a fresh perspective and identify opportunities to strengthen clarity, structure, detail, voice, and reader experience.
Attendees are encouraged—but not required—to bring a laptop or tablet and a short 1–2 page excerpt from a current work in progress to use during the exercises.
This event is made possible by the NC Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources through the Alamance Arts Council.
